Logo Design for Five Oaks Museum

  • Logo of Five Oaks Museum

So excited about this project I finished recently: Logo and Branding for Five Oaks Museum (formerly called Washington County Museum). Five Oaks is a historic location in Washington County where the Native American tribes used to meet for trade, hold meetings, settle disputes, or perform rites. The Five trees were thus a SHELTER for the traders. Just like the Museum is a SHELTER for local art and culture.

The Logo is a deconstructed 5 but also a deconstructed and a abstract tree with the arch above the word Museum representing the canopy of a tree…i.e a shelter. The logo also serves as a blank canvas that the Museum could then customize for each exhibition…see images 2, 3 and 4.

Know someone looking for a Logo overhaul and Branding design? I’d love to help email me so we can get started.

My design philosophy:

I’m passionate about design. Good design. Design that makes you think. Design that connects. Design that evokes an emotional response. I love to push boundaries and think outside the box. I love to create. To innovate. I love experimenting with new materials, ideas and processes, always striving to find new ways of approaching a problem, finding new solutions. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t, but I am satisfied for having tried. I accept my failures as a part of the process, learn from them and move on. But when I am done, I would have created something that’s original and fresh. Design to me is like a journey, a process, and an evolution of form and ideas.

My process driven approach to design and ability to conceptualize as an artist is what sets me apart from other designers.

Looking for something?

So how do you pronounce Ochre?

Break ‘ochre‘ down into sounds: [OW] + [KR]. It’s ow·kr! You got it. Why Ochre? I used to be a water color artist back in India and Ochre was my fave color. Also, in Indian culture, it’s considered a sacred color. So there’s that.
